Can I delete all my tweets at once?
Yes! You can select all tweets and delete them in bulk. The app handles Twitter's rate limits automatically, so even if you have tens of thousands of tweets, it will keep running until everything is deleted.
Can I filter which tweets to delete?
Absolutely. You can filter by date range (e.g., delete everything before 2020), by keywords (e.g., delete tweets containing specific words), or by engagement (e.g., only delete tweets with fewer than 5 likes).
Can I delete retweets and likes too?
Yes, Delete My Tweets can remove your retweets (unretweet) and likes (unlike) in bulk, not just your original tweets.
What about tweets older than what shows on my profile?
Twitter's API only returns your most recent 3,200 tweets. For older content, you'll need to download your Twitter Archive and import it into the app. This gives you access to your complete tweet history.
How do I get my Twitter Archive?
Go to Twitter Settings → Your Account → Download an archive of your data. Twitter will prepare your archive and email you when it's ready (usually 24-48 hours). Then download the ZIP file and import the tweets.js file into Delete My Tweets.
Can I preview tweets before deleting them?
Yes, the app shows you a list of tweets that match your filters before you confirm deletion. You can review and adjust your selection.
Privacy & Security
Is my data safe?
Yes. Delete My Tweets runs 100% locally on your computer. Your tweets, login credentials, and personal information are never sent to our servers because we don't have any servers that process your data. Everything happens on your machine.
Do you store my Twitter password?
No. We use Twitter's official OAuth authentication. You log in directly through Twitter, and they provide a secure token. Your password is never shared with or stored by our application.
Can I revoke access after using the app?
Yes. You can revoke Delete My Tweets' access anytime by going to Twitter Settings → Security and account access → Apps and sessions → Connected apps, then removing our app.
Does the app work offline?
The app needs an internet connection to communicate with Twitter's API to delete your content. However, no data is sent anywhere except directly to Twitter.

What are the system requirements?
Windows 10 or later (64-bit), or macOS 10.15 (Catalina) or later. The app requires approximately 100MB of disk space and works best with at least 4GB of RAM.
How long does it take to delete my tweets?
It depends on how many tweets you have. Twitter limits API calls to prevent abuse. Roughly: 1,000 tweets takes 15-30 minutes, 10,000 tweets takes 2-3 hours, and 50,000+ tweets may take 8-12 hours. The app runs automatically - you can let it work in the background or overnight.
What if the app crashes or I close it accidentally?
No problem! Just reopen the app and continue where you left off. Already-deleted tweets won't appear again, so the app will pick up from where it stopped.
Does deleting tweets affect my follower count?
No, deleting tweets does not affect your followers. Your follower count stays the same. Only the tweet content is removed.
Are deleted tweets really gone forever?
Once deleted through the API, tweets are removed from Twitter's servers and are not recoverable. However, note that third-party archives (like the Wayback Machine) or screenshots may still exist independently of Twitter.
